Despite all of its flaws, it's the only manga outside of Chainsaw Man that I've actively been reading in modern times. Those first few arcs were truly top shelf stuff.

I do hope Hori lets the universe continue with new artists at the helm, seems like he doesn't have much of an issue with that thanks to Vigilantes and Team-Up Missions.

I couldn't deal with the pervert kid and the way women were designed so I dropped it

But man, Bleach and Naruto were both still running then? Crazy

I still have love for this series, but it had potential to be much better. Fortunately it's ending before it turns to complete shit.

I still love it, warts and all. It's the one that brought me back to shonen after years away.

I know Japanese magazine design tends to be overly busy with blurbs and text everywhere, but my god, that image in particular is beyond the pale.

Makes those photoshops of the Arkham City Game of the Year cover art where people jokingly added even more text and logos look positively uncluttered.

Happy anniversary to my favorite shonen, you have flaws but still fun story, excited to see the conclusion when animated (don't milk it please 🙏)

Put me on the list of people who think Bakudork is obnoxious and an annoying character up till the season before this one (whatever chapter that translates to in the manga). Even then, he's leveled up to "passable"*

This can be undone if he doesn't apologize for his shitty behavior In very clear words

The majority of the story takes place for the first school but counting the beginning and epilogue so far it's like a year and half, close to 2 years maybe

It always seemed like a big mistake that they didn't follow Potter rules and make the series based around each of the years. Felt like the show moved too fast and not enough time passed.

Agreed. My personal preference is always aging. Like you can really appreciate Goku's growth in the original Dragon Ball from a boy into a young man. A child character becoming the strongest person in a universe with a couple months passing in their world always feels unsatisfying to me.

A common occurrence when it comes to most shonen manga really. The ones that maintain the quality and stick the landing are few and far between.

At least the manga in recent years has been much better than Jujutsu Kaisen
