Cat bells ringing...
- by Alana Hagues

Hallmark has released its 2025 Dream Book catalogue, showcasing all of its new Keepsake Ornaments for the upcoming holiday season. And plenty of Nintendo franchises show up among the newcomers.
Look, we know the headline here is outrageous — it's only April — but indulge us. (Thanks to VGArtAndTidbits for highlighting this on Bluesky!)
Some of the new arrivals, which are launching between July and October this year, include Elephant Mario from Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Princess Peach driving a kart, singing Jigglypuff, Tom Nook's nephews Timmy and Tommy from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and the decayed Master Sword from Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Other video game series you'll spot are Minecraft's Polar Bears, the pink sheep from A Minecraft Movie, the Halo 3 game box, a light up Xbox 360, and the classic Super Sonic. Plus, those old school-looking Pokémon look great, right?
Each of the ornament prices vary but most start at around $19.99, with the smallest ones coming in at $9.99. And we've only included a few shots here, but if you want to scroll through all of the upcoming ornaments, you can check out all of the pop culture decorations and video game ornaments in the catalogue itself.
We're still waiting for a light-up N64, Hallmark, but we suppose the Elephant Mario makes up for it. Maybe.
Let us know what you think of these in the comments.

About Alana Hagues
Alana has been with Nintendo Life since 2022, and while RPGs are her first love, Nintendo is a close second. She enjoys nothing more than overthinking battle strategies, characters, and stories. She also wishes she was a Sega air pirate.

I own a decent number of their Nintendo ornaments. The Raccoon Mario and Caped Mario are very cool, and my sister keeps hers up in a room year round. I’m still waiting on an Inkling girl, boy or squid to rep Splatoon!

Definitely too early for Christmas (ornaments) - Easter hasn't passed yet - but anyway, pretty cool, happy for those going for these... when the time for them actually comes, that is!

For those that are wondering about the time of year, Hallmark Keepsake ornaments are a whole thing. They drop in the springtime and most of the really cool ones are sold out by Christmas, so collectors are standing by, ready to pounce.

Mainstream Christmas in December, Orthodox Christmas in January, "Christmas in July"...
Hallmark would love it if they could spruik Christmas merch all year round.
And I got to say it...
We got Christmas in April before GTA VI.

I know this is a Nintendo page but I’m hella excited for the Xbox 360 and Halo 3 ornaments especially. I always collect these each year and I think this year, they’re gonna bankrupt me…..😭

I love their ornaments. There are multiple kinds: The expensive $20-&-uo, as well as the usually-smaller, no-moving-parts "Redbox" line of ornaments. The latter is usually available year-round in certain retailers, such as Wal-Mart, and available at GameStop during the Christmas retail season. There are also the "storyteller" ornaments, and premiums line, except I haven't seen any game-related in those lines.
The "Keepsake" NES came out in 2019, or 2020. I don't remember. I believe it was 2020, the 35th anniversary of the NES, and SUPER MARIO BROS. Similarly, the SNES came out in 2021, I believe, the 30th anniversary of the SNES. Hallmark features some ornaments for just that year, while I've noticed in recent years, they've started being more relaxed about that, with some ornaments reappearing for two years, then disappearing. I think that's a holdover from COVID-19, and the economy. Two years ago, my local Hallmark was giving $10-off coupons with ornament purchases.
The Elephant Mario, and the coin look good.

Going to the Hallmark store is a guilty pleasure of mine. So many neat ones in this catalogue. Elephant Mario, Kraft Dinner, Pixar’s Knick Knack Snowglobe and Stone Cold Steve Austin are my favorites.

Some of the NSO Keychains make for good tree ornaments btw, if you have any tucked in a drawer. I know i hang Cat-Mario from 3DW and something Splatoon, they look great

If they had released more Nintendo-themed ornaments, like one for every character in the Mario series, (Bowser for example) I would buy them all!!
And not exclusive to its online store that is.

That is way too early, but super ready at this time. Next thing we know they’ll start Christmas sales by mid September. But where are the Splatoon ornaments?
